The adult industry is also asking for money!

Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis is asking Congress for $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry. The industry is relatively small, fragmented, and unaccustomed to outside investment, the U.S. porn industry is somewhat buffered from today’s credit crunch, but it is not without problems. Video sales have been falling by 15% a year since 05, and online content doesn’t deliver the returns it used to, now that Websites such as RedTube and Zivity basically offering free porn.
Struggling companies need money for R&D, talent development and those that are thriving in a brutal market need funding for growth. Disruption is happening both upstream and downstream as the industry becoming democratized.Lady in distress
Their rationale is with all this economic misery and people losing their homes and life savings, sex is the farthest thing from their mind, so it’s time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America (ah demand generation). According to Francis: “Congress seems willing to help shore up our nation’s most important businesses; we feel we deserve the same consideration.”
Francis says he’s going to D.C. to personally make the pitch. Sounds like someone has a bone to pick.
