One of the things that I really miss in the debate in the forthcoming elections is the question about nutrition in schools. There have been some try-outs all over the country, and the results is conclusive: Giving the kids something to eat during the day increases the results!
Why isn’t this higher on the agenda?
In the UK for example, the School Food Trust is giving out lots of case studies, which shows the benefits of doing this! In Sweden, the same thing, it’s just for the politicians too read and learn – I don’t understand why the debate is all about the teachers – it doesn’t help if we put in thousand of good qualified teachers, if you have av class of youngsters who has not eaten, or worse – filled with Coke and pizza, the quality not-matter-what will drop!
So please, do something about it in the coming four years!
